I am an outdoor enthusiast — hiker, whitewater kayaker, glider pilot, skier — as well as a public school teacher, living in the heart of the White Mountains — the North Country of New Hampshire.
I’m also a guidebook author and a novelist, and this site has become a place for my own humorous takes on the outdoors, education, politics, and life in the North Country.
